EATING VERONICA is a feminist psychological horror novel about beauty standards and empowerment, following the bloody glow up of a young woman who spawns a carnivorous monster that feeds on her peers, and with each kill brings her closer to attaining the body of her dreams.
Publishing director Rosanna Forte acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Hannah Todd at Janklow & Nesbit in three-way auction.
The novel has also been sold at auction to Grand Central [in a seven-way bid] in the US. Forte and editor Sam Harding will publish the novel in spring 2027.

Maddison Dawn began writing fifteen years ago, when a play she wrote was produced by her community theater in Oklahoma. She continued writing through college, where she wrote guest blogs for the National Coalition for the Homeless and the Office of National Drug Control Policy. As a mixed-race woman who is white-passing while some members of her family are not, she has spent much of her life navigating questions of identity and belonging. She is a first-generation college graduate and a lifelong believer in doing your homework, and she credits part of her defiance and grit to her love of Janis Joplin.
She writes dark fiction and horror with an edge of romance—stories about the monstrous, the beautiful, and the blurred line between the two.
EATING VERONICA is her debut novel.
